DRUGSTORE HAUL: L'OREAL, MAKEUP REVOLUTION, SOAP & GLORY

Well hey! Today I'm giving you the low-down on some drugstore purchases I've made this month, including some old favourites (hello Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer), and some newbies (how have I never tried the Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara before?!)

  • Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette - What You Waiting For?
This palette by Makeup Revolution is one out of a collection of palettes, each named 'Salvation Palette'. They are a limited edition range, each offering 6 matte and 12 shimmer shades to give you '18 shades of high pay-off impact'. Now I've never owned anything from Makeup Revolution before this, but I'm super impressed by the quality considering this cost me £4! They were on offer from £6 which is great enough but when they were a few pounds cheaper I thought I'd see what they were all about (my sister owns about five and counting). The pigment is crazy good, they last all day, and the range of colours are amazing! I'll definitely be experimenting with some more.

  • Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in Fair
Now I don't need to say much about this guy. I had been using the Mac Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer for months until I started to find it a bit too drying and it started to separate as the day went on, especially not great for when I wanted to conceal my under-eyes. But this trusty liquid concealer has come to the rescue. The formula, the price, the lasting power, Collection has got this covered (excuse the pun).

  • Max Factor Masterpiece Mascara in Rich Black
I'll admit I'm a bit of a mascara addict, I love trying new ones and I rarely stick to one mascara for too long. I decided to try the Masterpiece Mascara this time round because a) I've never used it and b) I wanted to go for lengthening over volume for a change. I've tried most of the other Max Factor Mascaras so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed and sure enough I'm not. This mascara adds so much length to my pale, stumpy lashes, and it separates them so my eyelashes don't look like spiders-legs. In love.

  • Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder in Translucent
Another classic. I had one of these already (albeit it was all smashed up and barely useable) but in a peachy shade, so I opted for the translucent as I didn't want a powder that'll cover up my cream contour that I sometimes use. It's perfect, doesn't make my face all cakey, and definitely will be one of those powders I keep going back to over and over.

  • L'Oreal True Match Foundation
(I don't know what shade I am!) Now I've tried this before but never actually owned it, which is rare to hear from a beauty blogger. I love how it's a medium-ish, buildable coverage so I can cover my face with less or more depending on how bad my skin breaks out. I have combination/dry skin, so it also hydrates my face a little which is a bonus, so it feels fresh and like I'm not wearing any foundation, but it's not as dewy as I'd like.

  • Soap and Glory Archery Brow Tint and Precision Shaping Pencil in Brownie Points
I'd seen the brow archery pencil before but never the double-ended version so I thought I'd give it a test. After using it once the pencil broke which was a good start (not), but I've found that I wouldn't have used it anyway because it's a bit waxy for my liking. I use the fine 'felt tip' end to line the underneath of my brow to create its shape, and then I fill in the rest (following the line) with the Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil. I've found that my brows look more natural than ever and I'm going to carry on and see how long this product lasts (as my felt eyeliners tend to go dry quickly!)
