KYLIE LIP KIT: THE MARY JO K DUPE

I'll admit, I Keep Up With The Kardashians...regularly. I have them all on Snapchat, Instagram, and love relaxing at the end of the day with a KUWTK episode. Something about the Kardashian/Jenner clan is just so intriguing - maybe it's the fact that their lives are something of the complete opposite to mine (and the majority of people that, idk, exist), or that Kim Kardashian's bag collection probably equates to three times the amount most will earn in a lifetime. But, I digress. Kylie's Lip Kits are making their way round the beauty block, so when I found this almost-perfect dupe for Mary Jo K, I thought I should share.

The lip pencil I found is the Kiko Automatic Precision Lip Liner in 505. I love a good Kiko product. I don't own much, but I have used some of their eyeshadows before and the quality is great for the price. This lip liner cost an impressive £5.50, and the longevity of this product is similar to my L'Oreal Couture Lip Liner Pencils (they last me all day unless I grab a coffee, which is more often than necessary, then it's wise to have a touch up in the loo). I would say it's a little more creamy in comparison though, and you need to have a steady hand (as with all lip liners). The handy smudging tool on the other end of the lip liner makes it easy for you to blend out the colour so it doesn't look so harsh if you prefer.

The lip product is a NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in 10 Monte Carlo. Now everyone knows about these lip creams, don't they? They're only £5.50 too, which is an absolute bargain compared to other matte lip products. The applicator is small and perfect for precision, and the colour applies evenly and isn't drying on the lips. I'll apply two layers of this product for maximum colour and I allow about a minute for it to dry properly (I've heard from multiple bloggers/vloggers that Kylie's Matte Liquid Lipsticks take around the same time to dry also).

Kylie's Lip Kits cost $29, equivalent to £20 in the UK, which is a pretty decent price for a liquid lipstick and a lip liner. However, shipping to the UK sucks (£10!!) and then on top of that, you have to pay a Customs Charge (unless you're lucky enough to not be charged, it's very hit and miss) which will be a minimum of £8.01. So say you buy one lip kit and that is £20, then add £10 postage and an £8.01 customs charge = £38.01! It all depends on how much you want one of Kylie's Lip Kits (I'll admit I would like to get round to trying one or two eventually), but this dupe only equates to £11 plus P&P. Not bad for the same look, right?

Have any of you tried one of Kylie's Lip Kits?
